In order to try to improve the success rate, TN Group for Research administration (FoU), together with the Research and Innovation Department (FIA), offer to aid and assist you in developing and improving your application to externally financed projects.

Text about the University:

The University of Stavanger (UIS) is Norway’s sixth largest university. The university is located in Stavanger that is the energy capital in Norway with a dynamic job market and exciting culture- and leisure activities. UIS has approx. 12 000 students and some 1600 faculty, administration and service staff. Academic life at UiS is organised into six faculties, comprising a total of 14 departments/schools and two National Research Centres. UiS is a member of European Consortium of Innovative Universities, the leading international consortium of research intensive universities, with collective emphasis on innovation, creativity and societal impact, driving the development of a knowledge-based economy.

UIS is an experienced participant of international projects. UIS participated in more than 20 FP7 projects. We are currently involved in 6 Horizon 2020 projects (coordinator in three of them), COST Actions, EEA projects and nationally funded projects. Projects RUNIN (The Role of Universities in Innovation and Regional Development), Triangulum (The Three Point Project / Demonstrate. Disseminate. Replicate), CO-LAB (Improving collaborative working between correctional and mental health services) serve as examples.

The Faculty of Science and Technology at UiS has about 2880 students and 370 employees divided into 7 institutes. The curriculum focuses especially on engineering disciplines, while research activities are characterised by innovation and collaboration with industry and government.

The following minimum time-line is to be adhered to in order to send an application (much greater lead-time is preferred):

1.       Three weeks before the deadline we want you to send a preliminary title of your application to the Dekan Øystein Lund Bø, Pro-dekan for Forskning Helge Bøvik Larsen, FoU leader Elisabeth S. Paulsen and your Head of Department.

2.       Two weeks before the deadline we want you to send a draft of the application to the Dekan Øystein Lund Bø, Pro-dekan for Forskning Helge Bøvik Larsen, FoU leader Elisabeth S. Paulsen and your Head of Department.

3.       Two weeks before the deadline, send the budget to aase.ormoy@uis.no and katrine.p.lim@uis.no

4.       Please send a pdf-copy of final application to dokumentsenteret@uis.no
