Selected for Petroleum Geoscience Collection

UiS PhD graduate Charlotte Botter’s paper has been selected as one of the 10 best Petroleum Geoscience papers.

The paper “The impact of faults and fluid flow on seismic images of a relay ramp over production time“, is written in collaboration with Nestor Cardozo, Isabelle Lecomte, Atle Rotevatn and Gaynor Paton.

– This collection comprises 10 papers published in Petroleum Geoscience a refereed journal providing a multidisciplinary outlet for the publication needs of those involved in the science and technology associated with rock-related petroleum disciplines, stats a press release from The Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.

– Published by both the Geological Society of London and EAGE, the journal aims to improve knowledge of petroleum geoscience and reflect the international nature of the petroleum industry.

The papers selected and the session consist of very high quality researchers and exciting topics. All papers in the collection are free to read until 31 December 2017

In 2015 Botter was awarded the Best Young Presenter at the fourth international conference on Fault and Top Seals, Almería, Spain, and in June she was invited to present the paper at a dedicated session during the EAGE in Paris.

Botter defended her PhD thesis “Seismic Imaging of Fault Zones: A Synthetic workflow to study the impact of faults on seismic images” in June 2016.
