FUNDING! Deadline in September for research projects and knowledge-building projects

The Research Council of Norway (RCN) is calling for projects within many thematic areas, with deadline 12.09.18. Don’t wait until after summer, start planning your proposal today!

Researcher projects:

This is the most typical and common project category for researchers. The objective of this project category is to promote scientific renewal and development of disciplines and/or to generate new knowledge about issues relevant to society.

A researcher project is assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific merit
  • Project management and the project group
  • Implementation plan and resource parameters
  • National cooperation
  • International cooperation
  • Dissemination and communication of results
  • Relevance relative to the call for proposals

Researcher project calls with deadline this fall (12.09.18 unless otherwise stated):

HAVBRUK
PETROMAKS2
MARINFORSK
BIONÆR
KLIMAFORSK / POLARPROG
BIOTEK2021 / Center for digital life
MILJØFORSK
MAROFF / Singapore
DEMOS
SAMRISK (NB! Deadline 10.10.18)

Knowledge-building projects (KPN, Kompetanseprosjekt):

This category may be unknown to many scientists, but is highly recommended as a tool to strengthen research collaborations with industry partners. The overall goal of KPNs is to contribute to industry-oriented researcher training and long-term competence development in the Norwegian research community within topics that are crucial to the development of business and industry in Norway. Participating companies document that the knowledge gained from the project will be important to their future production or development of products or services. The project is required to have more than one partner from industry that is contributing financing.

A KPN is assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Level of research
  • Scientific merit
  • The project manager and project group
  • Implementation plan and resource parameters
  • Benefits for the national knowledge base
  • Relevance and benefit to trade and industry
  • Strategic basis and importance
  • User participation
  • Quality of the application documents
  • Other socio-economic benefits
  • International cooperation
  • Dissemination and communication of results
  • Relevance relative to the call for proposals

KPN calls with deadline this fall:

PETROMAKS2
MAROFF
ENERGIX
CLIMIT
BIA
