LAST CHANCE Sign up! “On Stage – Voice, body language and nerves” – course in presentation techniques for PhD candidates at UiS, 24th and 25th October

All PhD candidates at UiS are welcome to sign up for our new course in presentation techniques “On Stage – Voice, body language and nerves”.

The aim of this two half-days course is to equip you with crucial presentation techniques in order to be more comfortable on stage and focus on delivering your message to the audience.

The main objectives of the course are to further develop your competences in

  • presentations skills – how to use your body and mind effectively on stage

  • achieving contact with the audience - how to communicate effectively and create engagement amongst the audience

  • managing stage fright - advices and techniques on how to deal with “nerves”


Course method:

The course will mainly be organized as student active exercises to learn about and train presentations skills, creating engagement and communication with the audience.   

Presence is expected for the entire duration of the course, and you will get some homework to do between the first and the second day, related to your research project or a topic of your choice.

The course instructor Aud Berggraf Sæbø is a professor emerita at UiS, and her field of study is drama and learning processes. Since 2011 she has mentored UiS candidates prior to the “Forsker Grand Prix” and she is also engaged by the IOR center where she tutors PhD and Postdocs in research dissemination. 

The duration of the course is 2 meetings à 3 hours on the 24th and the 25th of October.
