14:25   Perspectives on the use of solar energy

            Harald N. Røstvik

Harald is an architect and professor at Bergen school of Architecture and professor II at UiS in Urban design and a specialist within city sustainability. He is considered a pioneer within the use of solar energy in northern climates.

            Monica Reinertsen & Linn Wetteland

Master students in Urban Design will present their master’s project:  A strategic plan for a sustainable hospital and university campus 2030-2040!

            Magnus Ø Meisal

Magnus from Innovation Dock will discuss their newly established partnership with Validé as well as ongoing activities with the city of Barcelona. Barcelona is one of the leading smart cities in the world and have recently started using smart traffic lights and telecare services.

            Alexandria Algard

Alexandria Algard is an architect and President of the National Association of Norwegian Architects. Alexandra is an engaged social commentator with visionary views on how cities should be developed that are nice, attractive and energy-efficient.

16:30   Brainstorming session

Everyone is encouraged to offer their ideas and suggestions on how a future smart campus could contribute to teaching and research activities. Additionally, ideas and suggestions that could generate more research activities in green energy are much appreciated!

17:15   Dinner

The menu will consist of locally grown food and hydroponically grown vegetables.

Depending on the participant list, we will decide if the seminar will be held in English or Norwegian.
