MSCA ITN 2018 call is published

The European Commission has published the 2018 call for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN). Deadline for this call is on 17th Jan 2018. Please the read call here.

At UiS, we have two granted ITN projects. The first project is RUNIN, started in September 2016, where UiS is the coordinator. RUNIN receives 3.7 million Euro from Horizon 2020, the EU’s major Research and Innovation programme.

The second ITN project is ENSYSTRA, granted by H2020 this year, and will receive 4 million Euro. UiS is one of the beneficiaries and the projects will have a kick –off in November 2017.

Some highlights of the MSCA ITN 2018:

  • New obligation to cover costs for short secondments (up to 6 months) of researchers in ITN with the Research, Training and Networking costs

  • Strict requirements for European Joint Doctorates (joint degree always within Europe or with European beneficiary) to avoid out-of-scope fellowships

  • Following a review of the MSCA unit cost model earlier in the year, it was decided that the living allowance contribution would increase by 5%. The living allowance rate is therefore now as €3,270 for ITN

  • The country correction coefficients have been updated. The Norway coefficient has been updated to 130.6% from 131.9%

  • Special needs allwance for disabled reserachers – as of q1 2019
