Foredrag om menneskets vei til Mars

Space&Energy og UiS har gleden av å invitere til et spennende foredrag med NASA ved dr. Pascal Lee fra NASA Ames Research Center i forbindelse med Space Week 2011. Foredraget finner sted fredag 26. august kl. 12.00 i Arne Rettedals hus, V-101.

Om foredraget:
The first human mission to Mars will likely be humanity’s greatest adventure in space exploration in the 21st century. As with all expeditions, its success will depend on planning. The first steps towards a human journey to the Red Planet are already underway, as we explore extreme environments on Earth and prepare for new journeys into deep space, near-Earth asteroids, and the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos. Dr Pascal Lee will discuss progress being made around the world to achieve these milestones, and will offer an account of his team’s recent record-setting 500 km rover drive on sea-ice along the fabled Northwest Passage to reach Devon Island in the Arctic, a place known as Mars on Earth.
