Stavanger Centre for Innovation Research seminar February 10th: Entrepreneurial strategies and organizational renewal within the offshore service vessel industry- how to adapt to challenges and opportunities in the Arctic.

You are cordially invited to attend the Stavanger Centre for Innovation Research's seminar. We are fortunate to have Professor Odd Jarl Borch joining us.

Odd Jarl Borch is a Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Bodo Graduate School of Business, University of Nordland. He received his M.Sc. from The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen and his PhD from Umeå University in Sweden. He also has Master Mariner education from Bodø Maritime School. Dr. Borch is conducting research within the field of competitive strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation systems, with special emphasis on the oil and gas subcontractor markets and the maritime industry.

Seminar title: Entrepreneurial strategies and organizational renewal within the offshore service vessel industry- how to adapt to challenges and opportunities in the Arctic.

In this lecture the starting point will be the search for new oil and gas resources in Arctic regions and the need for adequate vessels as well as competent management of operations in vulnerable, cold climate environments. Professor Borch will elaborate on the interplay between operational concepts, vessel technology and the business process management of the firms involved in Arctic operations. He will provide examples from maritime operations at Greenland.
